1. The Open-Source Tool

epi-recorder is MIT-licensed open-source software. You can install it, run it, modify it, and distribute it under the terms of the MIT license. The open-source CLI and Python SDK run entirely on your machine. EPI Labs does not control, access, or receive data from your local installation.

Use of hosted services is subject to the plan tier you select (Free, Pro, Team, or Enterprise). Rate limits and feature availability correspond to your active subscription plan.

3. Accounts and API Keys

API keys are tied to your account and plan tier. You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential. If you suspect unauthorized use of your API key, rotate it immediately or contact us for revocation. EPI Labs may suspend or terminate API access for violation of these terms or abuse of rate limits.

Hosted services are provided on a best-effort basis. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue hosted services with reasonable notice.

6. Intellectual Property

The epi-recorder source code is MIT licensed. The EPI Labs name, logo, and branding are trademarks of EPI Labs. The .epi file format specification is published openly for interoperability purposes. Your .epi files belong to you — we claim no ownership over evidence you generate.

7. Limitation of Liability

EPI LABS PROVIDES THE SOFTWARE AND SERVICES "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EPI LABS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL EPI LABS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE SOFTWARE OR SERVICES.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers. Continued use of hosted services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
